Bill Nisen
Bill Nisen has been involved with a series of educational initiatives at Dartmouth College and in Europe. Most of his recent work has centered around exploring disruptive pedogogical technologies while concurently searching for new applications for digital information and encouraging a grassroots approach to innovation. He is also actively pursuing the research agenda he launched as the founder of the Kelvin Institute in Glasgow, Scotland with particular emphasis on the convergence of ‘open innovation’, mobile communication technology, adaptive learning and cybersecurity. Nisen is heavily involved in assisting non-profit groups in adopting information and communication technologies to increase their efficiency and effectiveness. Nisen also mentors start-up companies, primarily in the education, mobile communications and information technology sectors. Nisen is an active angel investor in start-up companies in both the US and Europe, and often takes a board position. As part of a Dartmouth team, Nisen is active in the development of an entrepreneurial center of excellence in Kosovo that will impact the entire Balkan region. A Dartmouth alum (A.B. 1973), Nisen also has an M.A. from McGill University.
