The 2013 TCIPG Summer School will take place at the Q Center, an executive retreat center in St. Charles, Illinois. Located on a 95-acre wooded property on the Fox River, the Q Center is just a 45-minute drive from Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport.

A limited number of on-site rooms are available at the Q Center. Participants are encouraged to secure their on-site accommodations using the Q Center reservation portal provided for this event. Participants lodging at the Q Center will be provided breakfast, lunch, and dinner during their stay. Lunch will be provided for commuters and participants choosing off-site lodging accommodations. Other meals offered for a fee.

NOTE: As of 5/17/13 the Q Center Room Block may be full. Please go ahead and submit a request through the Q Center portal. If the Q Center Room Block is full, your request will be changed to a Day Pass (required) and you will be provided with info about room blocks at local hotels. You will NOT be charged for a Q Center Day Pass — but it is required to gain access to the Q Center campus and dining halls.

Q Center Rates/Reservations:

Rate: $158 per night, plus tax for an Executive Guest Room.

Q Center lodging includes three meals per day, access to Q Center Fitness and Recreational Areas/Equipment, and some amenities/activities at no additional charge. Others are available for a nominal fee. Visit the Q Center Dining and Entertainment Guide for more information.

(FULL/Not Available) Government Rate: We have secured a limited number of rooms at a government rate. Those seeking a government room rate should first contact Cheri Soliday at csoliday [at] illinois.edu before making reservations with the Q Center. Thank you.

Reservation Deadline: Rooms must be reserved by May 24, 2013 via the Q Center Online Registration Center. Day Pass requests will be accepted up to and through the event. A credit card will be required to secure your room reservation. Those requesting a Day Pass will also be required to provide a credit card, but it will not be charged. Scholarship applicants should not try to secure a room at this time and should wait until further direction provided in notification letters.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to limited availability of Q Center lodging, all Q Center lodging or Day Pass registrations for the TCIPG Summer School must be supported by an accompanying summer school registration. Those not supported by a summer school registration after May 16, 2013 are subject to cancellation. 

Cancellation Deadline/Policy:

No shows and cancellations after May 17, 2013 will be charged the full amount of the reservation.

Meals

Registered participants with lodging accommodations at the Q Center will be provided three meals per full conference day. Commuters and those lodging off-site must still register with the Q Center to secure an access badge which will also serve as your lunch ticket. Other meals may be purchased for a fee. Please indicate special dietary needs when registering with the Q Center. Adult guests (not attending the school) who are staying at the Q Center with a registered participant will be charged $60/day for a meal pass.

Guests & Children

Want to bring your spouse? The Q Center requires a meal pass ($60/day) for adult guests who accompany registered summer school participants. Please note that the Q Center does not permit or accommodate children. Participants who wish to bring their families may contact Cheri Soliday at csoliday [at] illinois.edu for information about nearby accommodations.

Local Transportation

The best and most economical way to get to the Q Center from the airport is through their preferred provider, A-1 Airport Limousine Service, Inc. To pre-arrange local transportation through A-1, simply provide your flight arrival/departure information via the Q Center Online Registration Center by May 24, 2013. Upon arrival at the airport, call A-1 at 1-630-833-3788. They will provide instructions on where to meet their car. Guests using A-1 Airport Limousine Service will be responsible for the cost of the limousine including gratuity.
