Daniel Chen is a Research Programmer at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is working on projects related to the security and reliability of the power grid. They include the development of a framework for experimental validation of system/application resiliency to errors and attacks; they also include studies of the possible attack vectors of worms, insiders, and hackers and extraction of the set of actions that constitute the attacks. He is studying different detection and response strategies by correlating the intrusion detection system alerts and various system logs to better detect and contain such attacks.
