Fun and Games
TCIPG, in coordination with the Mathematics, Science, and Technology Education (MSTE) program at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, has developed several interactive learning tools that are quite popular with the public across many age groups! Our online, iPad, and Android apps offer engaging options for exploring and learning about energy sources, power generation, and power distribution. Our science kits, tabletop displays, and classroom-ready lesson plans provide fun and interactive ways to illustrate math and science in the context of electricity and the power grid.
Tesla Town App
For iPod or Android, this fun and interactive mobile application allows younger students to explore and learn about different energy sources used for electricity production today. May be downloaded free from the iTunes App Store, the Google Play Store, or accessed online at http://tcipg.mste.illinois.edu/applet/tt (does not work with Internet Explorer).
TCIPG Minecraft World
TCIPG Education has created a Minecraft World of Power that invites players to explore multiple forms of electricity generation and transmission. Sensors and password protected substations and home management systems will require players to engage in responsible cyber security practices as they build electrified structures and communities.
